BMO Vancouver Marathon hosts 2017, 2016 BC Half Marathon Championships
BC’s best Half Marathoners vye for Championship Status
The fast 21.1KM Half Marathon at the BMO Vancouver Marathon was again selected by BC Athletics as one of British Columbia’s best road races and will play host to the BC Half Marathon Championships.
“BC Athletics is delighted that BC’s best athletes will again be vying for the title of BC Half Marathon Champion when contesting the BMO Vancouver event next May,” says Maurice Wilson of BC Athletic. “Hosting the Championship in conjunction with an event that already attracts a international field, further enhances the quality of the competition, and encourages local athletes to raise their game.”
Eligibility Requirements for the BC Championships
The BC Championships are open to all Junior (age 9-13), Senior (age 20+), Masters (age 35+) and Road & Trail members of BC Athletics. To become a member of BC Athletics, please visit bcathletics.org/membership.
Awards for the BC Championships
BC Athletics will present Championship Medals and Prize Money of $200, $100 and $50 to the first three eligible finishers, men and women, overall – based on gun-time.**
Age Category Winners
BC Athletics will also present Championship Ribbons to the first three eligible finishers, men and women, in each age category: 18-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, … 100+ – based on chip-time.*
