Join the BC Cancer Foundation as we near the finish line in the largest health campaign in B.C. history to raise $500 million to transform cancer care in our province. Register as a charity runner for the BC Cancer Foundation, the largest funder of cancer research in the province, and help British Columbians achieve a life beyond cancer.
Together we will invest in BC Cancer scientists and clinicians so they can continue their world-impacting work, fund innovation to deepen our global understanding of cancer and uncover new treatment options, and accelerate access to cutting-edge treatment options closer to home for everyone in every corner of the province.
B.C. boasts some of the best cancer care in Canada, if not the world, because of breakthroughs made right here at home. Donor-fuelled BC Cancer achievements have made significant impacts to cancer prevention and care, including:
- A childhood bone cancer drug discovery that could have saved the life of Terry Fox.
- The availability of CAR T-cell therapy, a cutting-edge immunotherapy treatment, as standard of care for certain blood cancer patients in B.C.
- Establishing B.C. as the first province in Canada to establish a new cervix self-screening option that will increase access to life-saving cervical cancer screening and provide a more equitable, accurate, comfortable and convenient way to test.
With your help the BC Cancer Foundation is proudly support the next wave of advancements, providing increased access to cancer care and new hope to families across B.C. facing this disease. Here’s how:
- Developing four new BC Cancer centres to serve patients across the province in Surrey, Nanaimo, Burnaby and Kamloops.
- Fully funding the purchase and renovation of a new building to home supportive care services on the Island and support BC Cancer – Victoria’s research and clinical trials programs.
- Building on BC Cancer – Kelowna’s systemic therapy space to increase treatment capacity by 40%.
Please join our team of BC Cancer Foundation runners and help us change the outcome for the one in two British Columbians who will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
