Goal setting taken to a new level at the BMO Vancouver Marathon
Runners encouraged to beat their goal time at the BMO Vancouver Marathon to win free entries
Vancouver, BC – January, 26 2016 – The BMO Vancouver Marathon is giving runners extra incentive to set and exceed their 2016 personal goals at the 45th Anniversary event by offering up free race registration to 45 runners who ‘Meet or Beat’ their estimated finish times.
Runners are asked to submit their estimated finish time when they register for the BMO Vancouver Marathon at bmovanmarathon.ca. Event organizers will analyze data post-race to determine who met or beat their goal race time. From eligible entries, 45 winners will be randomly chosen following the race and offered free race registration into the 2017 BMO Vancouver Marathon.
As estimated finish times determine which corral runners start in, event organizers are encouraging runners to be accurate with their goal times.
“Go for that personal best in 2016!” says Charlene Krepiakevich, Executive Director of the non-profit Vancouver International Marathon Society, the organization responsible for the event. “From runners who are just starting out, to the seasoned marathoner, signing up for a goal race time is the perfect opportunity to chase down a new fitness goal.”
All race distances at the BMO Vancouver Marathon on May 1, 2016 – the Marathon, Marathon Relay, Half Marathon and 8KM – are eligible to win and encouraged to take part in the fun ‘Meet it or Beat it’ time competition.
To motivate runners, the Society is also offering a free RUNVAN® Speaker Series with SportMedBC, plus free training tips and race preparation information on their website personalized by the Running Room’s John Stanton.
“Running with a club or clinic is another great way to keep yourself accountable to your new year’s goals and benefit from group camaraderie,” adds Krepiakevich, noting runners can actually enjoy $20 off Running Room Training Clinics when they sign-up through the BMO Vancouver Marathon.
Other benefits for registered BMO Vancouver Marathon runners include a free one month membership to Steve Nash Fitness Clubs, enabling runners to cross-train for improved results.
The BMO Vancouver Marathon will be held on May 1, 2016.
BMO Vancouver Marathon prices will increase on January 31 at 11:59PM PST.
