BMO Vancouver Marathon seeks 4000 volunteers
Vancouver, BC – February 14, 2012 – The search for the 4000 volunteers to join the crew at the BMO Vancouver Marathon has begun. The Vancouver International Marathon Society, the non-profit organization responsible for the event, is reaching out to school, community, sports groups and corporations to line the streets with enthusiastic volunteer ambassadors.
“Volunteers contribute time, energy and enthusiasm, and help make our event a success,” said Charlene Krepiakevich, Executive Director of the Vancouver International Marathon Society. “Volunteers have been at the heart of the organization for more than 40 years, and some of our volunteer alumni have been with us for three decades!”
There are 4000 opportunities and over thirty different volunteer roles available this year. Volunteers have until April 25th to register for the positions through the online registration system on the BMO Vancouver Marathon website.
“Volunteers will receive our much coveted t-shirts, plus other prizes and incentives,” Krepiakevich adds. “This is a fun opportunity for friends, family, and groups to gather and celebrate this amazing sport and community event.”
