The BMO Vancouver Marathon has decided to go a different route with the design of its t-shirts this year, changing the design to reflect all Canadian Provinces, and switching fabric from tech tee to cotton.
The design is inspired by rolling hills, and helps make those who may not have beautiful mountains or the Pacific Ocean in their backyard feel at home.
Vancouver’s only Marathon welcomes runners from not just the beautiful West coast, but from other cities where there may not be the beautiful mountains or ocean as represented in this year’s new medal.
As a local non-profit promoting inclusivity, RUNVAN® wants runners from all walks of terrain to feel welcome on its award-winning Marathon course that’s famous for ‘Stunning Running’.
Similarly, there will be no event distances on this year’s shirts to differentiate between Marathon, Half Marathon, 8KM and Relay races.
The sun is inspired by the sky, and the shoes in the new design are inspired by the event’s 17,000+ runners.
The design took months of deliberation before reaching this stunning masterpiece.
The cotton t-shirt was selected so runners may feel comfortable and warmer for the early start, and the switch in material is inclusive to those who may not be used to fancier fabrics.
Details on how to order extra shirts in advance of race weekend will be announced shortly on social @bmovanmarathon #bmovm #runvan
