Over 100 exhibitors and brands have pushed the 2015 Health, Sports & Lifestyle Expo at the BMO Vancouver Marathon to a new level
Marathon weekend becoming attractive market for top exhibitors
Vancouver, BC – February 12, 2015 – Offering more race experiences for runners at all levels, the BMO Vancouver Marathon has expanded its base of participants to garner the attention of more exhibitors and brands in 2015. Over 100 exhibitors and brands have secured their place in the Expo located at the stunning Vancouver Convention Centre West from April 30 – May 2, representing a 35% growth over 2014.
“While the Marathon remains our marquee race, the weekend also includes a new Kids Run, an exciting Half Marathon, a flat 8KM race and a 2 to 4 person Marathon Relay with distances between 5 and 13KM,” states Charlene Krepiakevich, Executive Director of the Vancouver International Marathon Society, the non-profit that organizes the BMO Vancouver Marathon.
“With these added races, more types of runners and their families will experience the BMO Vancouver Marathon. As such, this wider audience of health conscious consumers has attracted leading brands and exhibitors to shift their marketing spend to more experiential touch points, like our race weekend.”
Now the largest running expo event in Western Canada, the BMO Vancouver Marathon Health, Sports & Lifestyle Expo will include a variety of different products and services in runner engagement, sports, technology, food and nutrition, fitness, medical services, and health and wellness. Major brands will anchor the experience, drawing thousands of visitors over the three days.
Located at the new Vancouver Convention Centre West, the 2015 Expo expands to 70,000 square feet of award-winning convention space, tripling in size of previous years. Indoor and outdoor activations will animate the experience for runners and their families, and will be a hub for visitors to learn more about new and innovative health, sports & lifestyle products. The three-day Expo is a FREE event, now further cementing Vancouver as one of the most active cities in the world.
The enhanced 2015 Expo will also include indoor and outdoor stages featuring engaging presentations from local elite and recent Comrades champion, Ellie Greenwood; Running Room founder, John Stanton; and Dr. Jim Bovard of the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Also new for 2015, virtual coupons will offer runners and volunteers exclusive offers, information, and further incentives from participating exhibitors. The virtual coupon will be available for runners and volunteers one month prior and two weeks following the race.
